Jeju Island, A Lovely Island. A must visit place if you travel to Korea.
Travel to Jeju
There are lots of airline to travel from Seoul to Jeju, i.e. Jeju Air, Eastar Jet, Asiana, Korean Air etc. The traffic from Seoul to Jeju was massive, each few minutes we can notice a flight make departure.
We took the Eastar service as it was the cheapest among all. 100,000KRW for return air ticket for 2 people.
Take note that departure from Seoul to Jeju is at Gimpo Airport, not Incheon International airport.
Transportation There – Self Driving
At first, I was worried that I may have difficulty to cope with Korean car, as Malaysia practice right hand traffic while Korea practice left hand traffic. Still, I choose the smallest car which should be easier to maneuver, and go for it and it turn out to be a smart choice.
What we need is an International Driving Licence, which can be apply at JPJ branches. No exam needed, just need 2 piece of passport size photo, fill up the form up front and make a payment of RM150 for a one year licence.
Driving in Jeju was cheap, easy and fun.
The car cost us about RM50 per day. Fuel is about RM4/liter and the rate changes everyday. Parking at most tourist attraction was free of changes.
Driving in Jeju was easy as the car was equipped with updated GPS navigation system. Although we can’t read Korean, we can use the GPS system easily. What we need is the tourist attraction’s phone number, key in into the system, and it will lead you to the destination smoothly.
And it was fun as you travel by your own pace.
The car rental shop that I would like to recommend is Sixt Car Rental. Good service by them. Thumbs up! website: https://www.sixt.com/car-rental/south-korea/jeju-si
This was the first time we tried AirBnb services. It turn out to be a sweet memorable one for us.
Price were about RM135 per night, with minimum 2 night stay. Alice, the owner was a lovely lady. She just get married few months ago. Alice and her husband were friendly and give us all the tips to travel Jeju, and we have a pleasant stay at their guest room.

Place to Visit
Teddy Bear Museum
A place full of teddy bears, from huge to tiny, from old to new, from cheap to super expensive.
Located at north side of Jeju island. A beautiful place. We have our first encounter with snow here! Snow can be felt little by little as it fall down from sky. Freezing cold weather but our heart was warm with happiness.
Located at East side of the island. A hit place in Jeju. Travel bus are plenty to be seen here. Tourist need to do some exercise to get to the peak. A magnificent God’s creation. Just be there in enjoy the awesomeness.
Just a 10 minutes car ride from Seongsan Ilchulbong, there is another tourist attraction called Seopjikoji. Another natural beauty. The wind here was super strong that we felt that it can just sweep us away. Have to lean the body to front to balance ourselves.
A park at the south of the Island. At the far end of the park we came to this waterfall.
Jeju Love Land
Located at north of the island. A place for couples to have fun. A lot of sculpture depicting all kind of interest regarding sex.
Food That Should Not Miss in Jeju
The famous Jeju black pork. Nicely grill to perfection, plus a bowl of hot and spicy kimchi soup in freezing weather. Satisfaction guaranteed.
GPS locator if self drive: 724-4050.
One thing to take note: come here early, as parking space are limited along the road.
As for supper, just like in Korean movie, fried chicken with beer. We visited this stall: 이서방양념치킨하귀점, which is close to our guest room. The chicken was so nice that 2 of us finished up the whole chicken plus chips and salad.
